The company recognises and accepts that the services it provides do have, in varying degress, an effect on the environment and is committed to minimising these impacts through a programme of continuous improvement. Its policy is to:
- Comply with all legal requirements and implement procedures and programmes to ensure compliance with all current and future legislation. Conform to the requirements of the Amco Group policy and objectives.
- Maintain certification to the Environmental Management Standard BS EN ISO 14001 and use this as a corner stone of a policy to pursue continuous environmental improvement.
- Promote the efficient use of resources and raw materials and minimise waste production, re-using or recycling waste, where feasible.
- Use the best available technology, where appropriate and economically viable, in all extrusion and fabrication processes.
- Reduce to a practicable minimum the environmental impacts from its activities at its factory and strive to prevent pollution.
- In conjuction with suppliers and sub-contractors, assess the environmental impacts arising from the use of goods and services purchased. Currently, no significant environmental impacts are associated with the use of purchased products or routine sub-contract services.
- Educate and inform its staff to make them aware of thew environmental impacts of their day to day activites at work and encourage tem to seek news ways to reduce these impacts.
- Regularly review its operations to determine its environmental impacts and through management and improved programmes, set objectives and targets to control or reduce these impacts where practicable and economically viable.
- Provide a copy of this policy to all its staff, enforcing authorities, clients, neighbours, the public and any other interested parties who request it.
