Thermoplastic Extrusion Manufacturers

Amco Plastics Limited was established in 1978 to manufacture ventilation ducting for the British mining & tunnelling industries, 1988 saw the introduction of an extrusion machine for the in-house production of scuffing strip and end ring extrusion. As the teams understanding of the extrusion process developed, 1995 saw our first sales of plastic extrusions which lead us to diversify our products and widen our customer base.

Since then the extrusion facility has been heavily invested in and has gone from strength to strength.  Over the years this continual and ongoing investment has resulted in two extensions being built to our factory at Wath Upon Dearne, a purpose built warehouse to hold the vast stock of raw materials which enables us to offer short lead times, and a state-of-the-art extrusion plant which has increased our manufacturing footprint to 28,000 square feet.

We have our own tooling facilities available and when required we have a number of outside extrusion tooling experts at our disposal allowing us to accommodate any requirement.  Our electricians and engineers operate a regular maintenance and upgrade programme making sure that equipment downtime is always kept to a minimum, therefore allowing the plant to run as efficiently as possible 24 hours a day.

We pride ourselves in our ability to provide the technical expertise, service and innovation which enables us to offer our customers a vast range of custom thermoplastic extrusions which is envied in the industry.  To maintain this commitment to our customers, our extrusion operatives are trained to NVQ Level 2 in performing manufacturing operations and our management team’s knowledge of the plastic extrusion business is extensive and ever growing.

Quality plays an important role within Amco Plastics.  We were one of the first companies in the UK to be awarded ISO 9001(2000).  This accreditation ensures that all our extrusions are produced in accordance with rigorous controls set by the standard.  We can offer constant laser monitoring and statistical process control (SPC) producing histograms of certain products.
