Extrusion Materials

Amco Plastics can manufacture thermoplastic extrusions in a wide range of materials, flexible or rigid, coloured or transparent and can also offer the option of co-extrusion. Consideration should be given to the end use of the product when determining which material to use. Different materials offer different characteristics like UV stability, heat resistance, clarity and flexibility.  If you are unsure as to the best material or grade we can always offer our expert opinion. The most common types we extrude are:

PVC - Flexible Various softnesses up to semi-rigid. Mainly used internally, some external use. Can be colour matched, available in clear.
PVC – Rigid   Versatile. High impact. Internal and external use. Can be colour matched, available in clear.
PVC – Cellular  Very lightweight. Internal and external use. Can be colour matched.  Can be manufactured with or without a skin. Nails can be used on this material.
ABS     Good rigidity and chemical resistance. Good adhesion. High impact. Mainly internal use but external grades are available. Colour matching and clear. Food grades. Can be fire resistant.
Polystyrene (H.I.P)   Good adhesion. Can be colour matched or clear.  Mainly internal use, but external grades available. Can be fire resistant.
Polypropylene   Good at high temperatures or in chemical environments. Very tough. Low toxicity levels. Low smoke zero halogen grades available. Mainly internal use but can be used externally. Available as co-polymer or homo-polymer which is clearer and stiffer.
Polyethylene Good at low temperatures or in chemical environments. Tough. Internal and external use.  Low toxicity levels. Low smoke zero halogen grades available.  Available as high and low density.

To facilitate fast deliveries a large stock of raw material is constantly held in our onsite warehouse, but we also work closely with our material suppliers to be able to offer our customers a comprehensive range of materials in a vast array of standard colours. We also offer a colour matching service.  We always insist on the shortest lead times possible but please allow extra time for colour matching.

If the material you require is not listed please contact us, as we may be able to offer alternate products in the extrusion process.
